A Highlight of the 2019 Tomato Festival

Presented by Cotner Funeral Home and This is Reynoldsburg

A Tradition Renewed

The tomato Festival has been a tradition in Reynoldsburg since 1965. The tomato festival is held in honor of Alexander Livingston, and the innovations he made in tomato horticulture. Alexander was an early citizen of Reynoldsburg, and founder of the Alexander Livingston Seed Company, still operating today. The festival was cancelled in 2018 because of a lack of funds available for the Reynoldsburg Festivals Inc. (who ran the festival until then). The City of Reynoldsburg took over management this year and funded the festival with nearly fifty thousand dollars.

Awesome Activities

This year’s Tomato Festival hosted a number of fun things for visitors to do. Apart from the great music residents were able to participate in a tomato throwing war, watch the police versus fire fighters kickball game, play carnival games, judge chilli and salsa competitions, and a whole lot more.

A New Festival

This year (2019) the tomato festival saw an amazing attendance over the span of it’s three day running time. Hundreds gathered to eat fried foods, listen to great bands, and participate in a selection of activities. The video and photos included below were all captured at the 2019 Tomato Festival by #ThisisReynoldsburg and Cotner Funeral Home.
